Ok you fools. (We were all fools to fight in Vietnam) You say we fought against communism and as you know ( Young people know this too) we lost over 58,500 dead troops. So how come my brand new Chevy Equinox vehicle was made in China? ( That is the engine for my vehicle is made in Communist China ) China helped kill those 58,500 men by supporting North Vietnam. So why did General Motors go to China and give those people our jobs? Why is wal-mart full of goods from China? I bet all you veterans buy goods from China? Right? Same with Vietnam. The clothes on my back are from Vietnam. (Thanks Wal-Mart ) Guess what I know ?? In 10 years all the Auto Plants will be in China. All the cars you will drive will be made in China so why did you old Veterans fight the so called communist? You know as well as I do the Communist countries won when it came to the Vietnam war. OK, News flash people, the Cold War ended already! Communism never worked out, there is no real Communist countries anymore. All these lies you where told by your government that you so strongly hold are now obsolete. Nationalism is a thing of the past, now its global thinking, global economy, global culture. Quit being barbaric and adapt to the new world or become extinct. Those vets would not be dead if the USA had not invaded the country of Vietnamn which was only trying to determine its own future after many years of colonial exploitation. I would hardly call the current Chinese government communist. It has a stock market and a bugening capialist ecomomy. The reason that China has become the workshop of the world is because they produce better goods at a cheaper price. its bussiness not personal, bussiness's are there to make money and the best way to make money is to make the stuff at the lowest possible price and sell it at a price people are willing to pay for. Again, its bussiness not personal You are 100% right! It sickens me to think that wal-mart sells American flags while supporting communist china. And the funny thing is, it seems like wal-mart is some kind of red neck heaven. How can those people claim to "Support the troops" while sending all those America jobs and dollars to china???? Come on people, spend an extra buck or two and save what little is left of your pride! I am not a Vietnam Vet. I am a 20 year retired army veteran. Desert Storm/Shield, 16 1/2 months in Iraq. To answer your question, it's all about the big bucks. It seems to me that there is no such thing as American pride anymore. If Americans took pride in their products (like they did a long time ago) things would be built to last. People would buy a product that was meant to work in 15 years just like it did the first day they bought it. Now everything is just like a disposable lighter. Buy it, use it for a little while, throw it away and buy another. That's why I bought a Harley. It costs a bit more but after six years it runs like new. If Americans took pride in their products more Americans would buy them. If corporations took pride in their country, they wouldn't hide their headquarters in the Cayman islands to avoid paying taxes. The new toyota plant in San Antonio has so many tax breaks it's pathetic. Of course there is the all of the money going into the personal pockets of politicians who make it easier for foreign companies and countries to make money and screw up the American economy. Hell, we have huge oil reserves of our own and we are paying almost $3.00 a gallon for gas which comes from foreign oil. I still don't get that one. Don't forget that countries like china have nine year old's slaving away making knock off products to sell world wide. They customers want things cheap, so they have to find a way to make it cheaper. The only place where you can get things made cheap is CHINA.
