Superhwy will it cause some our american truckers to be put out of work?


http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?i... From what i read mexican truckers will not have to stop at the border. It will put put alot of truckers out of work. It will run all the way to canada from mexican ports. It will bring alot more stuff from overseas. hurt our manufacturing jobs. our car companies are allready in trouble, china wants to import cars to us nafta has hurt american workers. walmart I am sure will benefit.

The Mexican truckers Do have to stop at the border, and they Do have to be inspected. Yes it is hurting the American trucker.Companies that are shifting to overseas production, are not only hurting the American trucker but themselves, thier own employees, and the American Public as a whole.I am one of those truckers, but will dig in and keep a positive attitude towards hope for our future.God Bless America.
US consumers will sure as hell benefit from this. It's more free market capitalism, baby.

Work on your marketable skills, and keep working on them. Any idiot can manufacture goods or cart goods around (sorry) and with an increase in the labor pool there will be a market correction. That's the way things work. The alternative is protectionism, which will make us poorer in the long run.

I say we should welcome Mexico and Canada into the USA, but that's just me.. A North American Union in the mold of a European Union just means we have to be verrrry careful when they draft that constitution...
US truckers may loss some jobs, but it is also possible that the project would make major improvements in the transportation network which could increase overall productive and make the US more competitive. The transportation network goes both ways after all.

It an interesting article, but ten lanes plus rail line seems like overkill.
