What is the future of the US economy?

The US economy seems to be really bad. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer while the midle clas is getting squeezed and taking hits. Since China is a big producer because of having cheap labor, does that mean the US has to look towards high tech jobs. I mean the days of made in USA are gone and there are a lot of Made in China labels these days. To which companies do we look to help the future of the US economy. We really need to invest in education since it is base for success so we can create more leaders, bussinessmen, and entrepenuers.

You need to invest in the American economy covince everyone you know to not shop at wal-mart and look for the made in the USA label. The great thing about the USA is if we can convince enough people to support a good cause we can make good things happen, just remember we still make almost all of the same things made in china just a little more costly(cause your supporting the American worker and not a sweatshop in china) and if you can't afford that item you probably don't need it. Be American buy American
So much to think about. All we can do is buy our necessities which covers gas, food and clothing when needed. Hold on to as much cash as we can for harder times; and hope they don't get too hard.
There's really not much else we can do but to hold on and pray that things will work themselves out. They usually do. Prayer is our answer to everything. God bless us all.
Sorry! my dear, I understand your dilemma/anxiety. All you need to do is to be historical and you would see what would eventually happen to the US economy.

It has led the world economically and this has almost slipped from its grasp right now with high tech and services still remaining in its grasp but it is just a matter of time before that one becomes history too.

The only thing that is keeping the US economy now and would for sometime is their overwhelming superiority millitarily and this is also transient.

This is the inevitable operation of the global economic history and the US will never be different. It has to refine its millitary more and more in order to hold the world by force or, it would have to find a way of opening its borders to attract more and more people to its borders who would become citizens and are absorbed into the American value system. These same people can also be allowed to operate from where they came from. With this scenario, you find little Americans ruling the different nations of the world and keeping the Us as the Fatherland mind my use of the word, fatherland.
hey,

Put me in the camp that says that this "show" cannot go on forever!

But it was nice while it lasted...

Does this help any?
reading way too many inept economic textbooks
It doesn't look good does it? You are right about the days of "made in U.S.A." are pretty well gone for the industries. As for the high tech jobs?? Heck they're already going to East India ! ! Computer language is bits & bytes. It is a universal language like mathematics transcending the spoken language of any nation.
In the United States a computer analyst charges more than a hundred thousand dollars a year plus benefits. In East India? A computer analyst can be hired for twenty three thousand a year and pee on the benefits! ! Who do you think is going to get the job? In this global village we live in you can bet the guy who can do the same job in India, with the same quality of U.S.A. is going to get the job.
It doesn't look good economically for the United States.
