USA or China?

In the short run I'm not afraid of China. They need jobs making our sneakers and toaster ovens a lot more than we need their crap. We have the technology to wipe any country off the map, including them.

But we don't have the balls. We'll send a carrier group or two to bomb a little country like Iraq or Yugoslavia so we can steal from one them. But do we have the balls to fight a World War 3 now that we are #1 and have everything to lose?

And what will happen to us in the long run if China becomes #1, in a world of 20-30 billion, and a dozen superpowes.

wow!

Are you on crack?

thats y everybody should chill toghter and light a joint and forget about everything

Let them have the responsibility if they want to be number one.

Being a bully only brings on more challengers, as the US has seen in the last 20 years with the onslaught of terrorism.

well the clintons gave them enough rocket science to put us at risk. they are releasing toxins into our dog food and toothpaste so they will know how the poison spreads and how long it takes to be discovered. hopefully we're preparing some pre-emptive strike plans. eventually we'll probably end up in a mutually assured destruction stalemate with them.

What are you babbling about?

China has the trump cards - with their US $$$ holdings they can pull the rug out from underneath the US any time they want ...... selling all the bonds, treasury bills etc..... collapsing the US$ and its economy. All the oil producing countries will then demand Euros for payment because the US$ won't be worth much. The Chinese currently hold 1.8 Trillion US$.

The US does not have the military resources to take on China - nor does she has the balls to do so. Think about it. The Us is THE MOST indebted country in the world - living mostly on credit. Who are the creditors? China, the oil rich ME countries. They don't like to see their investments value, holdings dwindling or going down the toilet. They will sell, pull most of it out before everything crumbles. Past sins have the habit to come back to roost! The stupid US administration(s) are spending....... and printing ever more worthless money as if there is no tomorrow. The printing presses must be overheating.....

Hopefully I'll be long gone before that day comes!

What you say will most likely happen in a few decades, keeping in mind that the Chinese economy has a growth rate five times the average of the Western industrial world.

According to economy experts, the factor that keeps the Chinese from domineering in the world today is the low Gross National Income (GNI) of the Chinese, that is of course improving, but it will take some time.

But I do not think the world nations, including the Americans, would have much problem with China as the top world power, since the Chinese have already proved their rational approach, not even resorting to force to get back their own lands in Hong Kong, or Taiwan, although they definitely are strong and willful enough.

And as far as "having the balls" to start the WW III is concerned, I assure you it is not merely that factor that prevents the US from creating such a big catastrophe for the mankind, since it is neither possible any longer, nor beneficial for any world power to do so for various reason.

The future wars would merely be economic for sure (although the Palestinians and Israelis might go on fighting till the dooms day!), save for the remaining few bullyins of Washington, may be in a couple of other spots, yielding really not much benefit for anyone, including the Americans.

Nobody hopes to have WW3 come, countries have well equipped just to defence attack only.

You must be a child. America has fought two wars with China all ready in Korea and Vietnam. We didn't win either wars because of their population. China also has the nuke and mother Russia as an Ally.

There are 20-30 billion people in the world?

You want a world war III?

China would just lay down and take it?

What would happen if China becomes #1.
Well based on their history and not having much in the way of military incursions into other countries for over 3 decades, I'd say, based on that and the USA's dismal history in that regard, the world just maybe better off.

Peace

Jim
