Permanent Job opportunities for Expats in CHina?

Are there any permanent full time positions for native english speakers in china?

an expat is an expatriot...someone from another country

Yes, but most of them are sent here from the head offices of various international firms.

Chinese local firms don't usually hire expats, I have met only few, they are all with development companies.

This answer is VERY VERY VERY FALSE. I know people who work in HR at HSBC, CITI, and many other international firms. When they see a resume with a foreign name on it, they toss it in the trash. The Chines government forces them to hire locals and hates it when they hire domestic expats. Report It

Don't know, but
the word is
probably
Expert, not expat.
Expert means really good at something.

Sorry to burst your bubbles, but aside from teaching English, there is absolutely NOTHING for expats who are not at the senior-management level.

China has very bias hiring policies that favor the local population. It's not that unreasonable if you think about it, after all you are in their back yard.

Anyways, that's the reality kid.

sorry, winter_n....., people are talking about Expatriate Opportunities. And we probably don't need you to teach us the meaning of expert.

It's very difficult to find a job (beside teaching English) if you get there witout a job first. But things are different if you ask for an inter-company transfer. Heard that a lot of people get expat career that way........
