Given Illegals & China, is Anyone Surprised that Low-Skilled Americans Can't Afford Insurance?

Is anyone surprised that low-skilled Americans don't earn enough to buy health insurance for their families given that so many Mexicans have come to the US and that we import so much stuff from China?

Exactly how did Clinton (and Bush) envision protecting these American families when they supported illegals, NAFTA and permanent MFN for China?

Did they expect high paying jobs to grow on trees?

Not surprised at all. It'd also be nice if more people besides rich kids could afford to go to good colleges. And it'd be nice if they moved OUR frickin' American jobs *back over here*. The only problem is ... corporations don't give a s.hit about the human beings who work for them. It wasn't so much like this at the beginning to mid-20th century, when corporations made some attempts at *balancing* profits and workers' needs. Now it's all about profits. Let the people die.

I think you answered your own question...either they didn't forsee the affect that Nafta and other agreements would have or they don't care.

Even the skilled can not afford insurance......Then again it depends what you considered high paying or low skills?

I think the ridiculous prices of health insurance is stopping Americans from buying it, it's got nothing to do with Mexico or China.
