Have you ever considered banning things made in China? |
I am currently reading a book called A Year Without Made in China. it is a family's attempt to go without buying anything that has a label that says Made in China (duh). I have been checking things I have purchased in the past year, and just yesterday, I found the first one marked Mane in the USA. Not only that, but it was actually PRINTED in the USA ! It was a urinal I bought for my uncle because he is broke and only lives on a pittance from Social Security and $4.65 a day on food stamps; although he had worked hard all his life in a factory. have you ever considered reducing your purchasing power by 20% ??? i think that there needs to be reform...the government and other companies need to bring jobs back to the united states no matter how cheap it is to usethe chinese workers. the first step is having somthing here before doing anything to the factories in china. we should. I am 30yrs old and since I was 4 my father has always refused to buy anything with a "made in china" tag on it. This has actually cost him more because china stuff is generally alot cheaper. He dosent care though. I myself do buy "made in china" because we have 6 children and cant afford to do otherwise. Its just alot cheaper. You'd have to start with banning the Clinton campaign. That was definately made in China. I would have to ban myself. or... Yes!! I have. I have seen an interview with the woman who wrote the book you are talking about "A year without Made in China". She said it was very very difficult to find items in stores that were not made in China. I think you would have to go to speciality stores to find items made in America or any other county besides China. Well Mattel didnt have to worry about these problems before the early seventies, when their plant was in Hawthorne Ca.Do think outsourcing is a bad thing, yes and no.On a free market I can understand why.As for the American worker,it is a problem.Do I think we are making a mistake giving economical future to a Communist country, that can eventually, create a world economy problem, and further create problems in American and free world markets,I think we are selling out our future somewhere. But the best way to defeat socialism/communism is to import capitalism, and capitalist ideas,so we are in a catch 22 situation.I'll buy American where I can. |
