What should I import from China to sell on eBay as a side-job? Where should I by the items?

I don't want to buy 100 of one product. It seems very risky. How can I avoid the knock-off or counterfeits?
Ideally I'd like to find a supplier who will 5x24 items of different products to start. Am I dreamning? Any ideas?

In my honest opinion, i would NEVER buy from China/Japan, especially to re-sell something

I have been selling on Ebay for 3 years and about once a week receive a message from someone in China or Japan, asking me to buy their items in bulk (they usually offer Nike shoes, new watches, Etc.)
They provide a link to a website where they basically steal your credit card information
I have to report these all the time

ANYWAY! Like I said, I have been selling for 3 years. It has taken me 3 years to get to where I am and to finally start making some real money.
So there is a good chance that no one is going to tell you exactly what to sell, it would kind of be like giving away a secret

I will tell you what I was told, and this worked for me:
Gather things around your house (clothes, old collectibles, movies, shoes, etc.) and start listing
See what people are buying

You'll get the hang of it but like I said, stay away from International bulk purchases!

It took a while for me but, you'll find your "niche"
Dont give up!

I may be able to guide you to wholesalers that will sell in smaller quantities...and even offer drop-shipping in some cases.

Not sure about China. You gotta be careful of the freight costs. That's why buying by container-lots reduces the cost/piece.

You could try Overstock.com?Also Koleimports, com, good luck!!!!
