Al Gore, Global Warming = Land Loss in China?

Al Gore provides a lot of great statics in his movie "An Inconvenient Truth" yet I have had difficulty finding and validating them. As a matter of fact the only publication that I am able to locate online that provides sources for the statistics quoted on his movie is this http://www.climatecrisis.net/thescience/

I suppose its possible that the statistics he provides are sourced in his book but I would have thought the environmentalist community and the publishers of the climate crisis website would have done a better job of sourcing these statistics for easy access to potential "converts".

Let me be clear, I believe that most if not all of the info Mr. Gore presented is valid, I would however like to see the sources myself.

I am most interested in his statistics about the pacific islanders who have had to abandon their home islands due to rising oceans and the one about the loss of usable land in china each year.

Please, provide sources and/or links. Relevant commentary and discussion are encouraged but please, no irrelevant or comments or "bla-bla-ing"

Gore's crap is being disproven and debunked right and left. He needs to be sent to a mental insititution to see if he's competent enough to stand civil trial for his mass deceptions.

The young dumbsters who attended his stupid movie should also be sent in for counseling, and put on some form of deprogramming or recovery system.

The movie "inconvienient" truth is nothing but a propoganda movie meant to scare people. For petes sakes! the polar bears are animated because he couldnt find real polar bears that were in distress. Also, If al gore really believed in this whole man made global warming business he wouldnt be using 20 times the national average a person uses electricity, not to mention taking private jets everywhere he goes. Global warming is a natural cycle that the earth goes through cooling and warming cooling and warming. This is caused by the sun, and other planets in the solar system are warming up as well.

Gores joke of a movie was whooped in a London court last week due to the fact that many of the claims could not be verified.

The information in the film summarizes a lot of diverse scientific findings. So you're going to have to dig. Here's a couple of websites that have reliable information

The case for accelerating ocean rise is one of the weakest arguments in "An Inconvenient Truth", because accelerated ocean rise may not happen for a half-century or more. The oceans have been rising since the end of the last Ice Age, and will continue to rise, but whether or not that rise accelerates due to GW in the near future is not clear---for a few decades, at least, GW may increase the snowfall in Antarctica and slow the oceans' rise. In any case, it's a hard thing to measure.

I can't remember where I found the info, I read so much, but chinas problems have nothing to do with global warming and everything to do with corporation exploitation of the enviroment. so much for free trade in china being a benefit to people in general. I saw this article a couple of years back in a national geographic magezine at the doc office and the water was green, there was trash everywhere and the air was dirty looking, lots of dust like stuff, don't know what it was.

they said the people were eating fish out of these lakes and streams, yuck! forest depletion is a problem too, they go in strip it and move on. global warming has nothing to do with that. Just saw a documentary that showed some areas of china were devastated, in fact I think it was one of the discovery channels affliates.

About the islanders, it must be remembered many of these islands are used by military, people are forced to move to other islands, so global warming is a perfect scapegoat here. I saw a documentary about one island where that happened, I believe it was a pbs station that aired it. they forced these people onto another island that was in worse shape then there own, to build a military runway.

we have to remember sometimes they lie outright.
