I will be a foreinger living in China, how should i prepare?

my job, my life service, how to make friends.....and so on

My wife and I are frequent visitors to China. You will find the people some of the friendliest in the world. In fact, you will be amazed at how welcoming and accepting the Chinese are.

I have never worked there, but I know people who have taught in China, and they loved it.

Making friends in China is so easy it will surprise you. Ask for help, and they will immediately become your friend.

Don't worry too much about the language barrier. Many Chinese speak English in metropolitan areas. If you are moving to a rural area, you will have a more difficult time, but not impossible. I found many Chinese welcome the opportunity to practice their English.

Bring lots of cash. In rural areas especially, it will be very difficult to use credit cards and traveler's checks.

Most major hotels will have ATM machines, but plan on using credit cards in them, not debit cards.

And the communist thing? Don't worry about it. Any law-abiding person will have no issues of any kind. Actually, I found Capitalism alive and well in China. Everyone, it seems, owns their own little business. There are probably more small businesses in urban China per capita than in the US.

Learn as much about the language and culture as you can.

If you can find someone who is a native who will give you help/tips it will go a long way.

People have a different idea of polite there . . . it's important to keep that in mind.

And, I hope that your company has a mentor program or something for you over there?

Best of luck!

First and foremost, I think you should shed yourself of all preconceived ideas and open yourself to new experiences.

waste of time, you're not an American, stay there.

Firstly, take the time to learn the language. If there's not much time, at least the pleasantries, and general need to know information. Nothing says "I appriciate being here", than the effort to communicate well. Remember that different regions do have different dialects, and some their own language.
Second, learn some thing of the customs. I believe that there are different ways of speaking to a superior, an equal and a minor. But be sure your information is up to date. Many doing business with the West will be aware of, if not practicing, the Western ways. In rural areas, small business, etc., the older rules may apply.
Be aware that you are in a foreign country, and things are not going to be the same as where you are. If it were there would be no point in traveling would there? Be respectful of those differences.

Don't know what the Chinese will make of a Foreinger, whatever that is!!!

If you're American and want to migrate to China or any other country THAT'S THE BEST THING YOU'VE DONE

After all, you'll get away of racism and zionism

Good Luck with your new shiny life

Get an AK because your entering the red zone. Just kidding. But do remember that you will be living in a communist country; where they can throw you in jail for anything that is for the good of the people. China may appear civilized, but they are still communist so watch your back.

It is spelled foreigner...

perhaps checking your spelling will help you on your endeavor

it's communist country so it will be fine not like in fakking Imperialit USA and Japan
