The laws of supply and demand dictate gasoline prices. Push like hell for the use of alternatives as soon as possible if not sooner. Demand incentives for development of alternatives. If we don't demand it will never get done. Write letters, form rallies, demonstrate, what ever we need to do to get attention on this matter. Most of all we need to flood the offices of our reps to get it done and stop fooling around. Liberate ourselves form theri oil supply The only way is to come up with a viable alternative for oil.
