I am wanting to work abroad, how do i get all the info i need before going ? |
I am looking to take a year out of work, to work abroad either in a bar, pr or in a hotel, does anyone know any good sites to get info to find out if i need a work permit, if i should just go over there and find a job when i get there and also accomadation do i wait till i get there. A work permit is usually required and is often a separate document from your visa or residency permit. It is necessary if you plan on working in a foreign country. It may be obtained either before you leave the U.S. or after you arrive in the foreign country, depending on the laws of the particular country. You should apply for the permit at the same time you apply for the residency permit or visa. Source(s): http://travel.state.gov. These are a couple of great websites for you www.statravel.co.uk and www.direct.gov.uk and type work abroad in the search box. Also to find a job abroad go to www.jobcentreplus.co.uk and you can search for jobs all over europe. If you are claiming job seekers allowance have an interview over the phone and if you get the job tell jobcentre you need help with costs to go for an interview (dont tell them you have been accepted for job) and they will pay your travel there as long as it is for an interview, so tell them that. Hope this helps You need to decide where and how first. If you're British you don;t need a visa to work anywhere in the EU, that's probably a great place to start. How? do you you speak another language or are you relying on English tourist trade. If you google summer jobs or ski jobs you can find something for a season which will probably involve accomodation, that might be an easier start. Check relevant embassy sites for work permit info and do a search on google for information. Gap year web sites are also very useful. i dont know if this will help or not but Dubai is quite a nice place to work, temporarily or permanently. Try this site: www.emiratesvillage.com Hope it helps. |
