I want to teach English abroad. Ive booked a TEFL course but where do you get a job with no experience? don't worry, there are lots of schools (at least in Italy) that are more worried about having mother tongue teachers with a TEFL qualification than one with years of experience. There are also plenty that aren't too bothered about the qualification either.... Try Times Educational Supplement and the Guardian jobs page (on a Tuesday I think, Education jobs day). Also try contacting schools directly in the area you want to go to. Now is a good time as they are recruiting for September. All the best... Source(s): personal experience japan seeks english teachers, LOADS of openings there. I just came from Korea and many people are making tons of money teaching English. SOme have training/certifications, and some do not, but both are making $$$ The TEFL certificate should be enough cause there's a great need for qualified English Teachers out there. It also depends on where you go, but generally you shouldn't have a problem finding work. Good luck! PS. I'm teaching English myself, started in Madrid with no experience. Most places are looking for experience. It is best to try and contact your local council first and offer your services even if it is only for a few months at least you will have something to back yourself up. http://www.jetprogramme.org/ AEON NOVA http://www.gaijinpot.com/job_search.php... |
