Why students are preferring to do MBA abroad when there are lots of good business schools available in India? |
I have seen many Asians are going to Europe of America or Australia for their post graduate programmes like MBA. There are equal number of Business Schools available in India and other Asian countries. Is the standard of American, European and Australian business schools are better then Asian counterparts? Are these schools are having edge over Asian institutions for getting better Jobs after complition? 1st...the standards are definitely better. It is a much more interactive scenario in the schools abroad and they tend to give an exposure to the real world and many of them require job experience before they accept a student. 2nd...the percentage needed or the cutoff for many of the best business schools is very high and very unreasonable.which child, except a select few, can score above 95% in 12th boards? 3rd...job. It is much easier to get a job anywhere in the world with a diploma from a US or UK university. These diplomas are looked at in awe. 4th...many people that go abroad for MBA plan to settle in the country itself. The MBA is an opportunity to go abroad. It could be they need specific courses for doing business in those countries. I suspect they think it is prestigious to earn the degree outside the country. Mike Honeycutt MBA offered by any of the Indian Business Schools (including IIM) is NOT recognsed especially in European Union. But the viceversa is not true. Hence people dont mind coming to europe to do their MBA. If you see the application and prospectus for HSMP Visa, there is not a single Indian Business School mentioned there. So, who wants to risk? |
