Is it true? I could hardly get a job abroad if I got a failed mark?

I want to go work in another country, because of some family matters.. not really financial, but relationship thing. Anyway, I was by a friend that if I got a failed mark in my grade transcript, it would be hard for me to work or apply abroad. How hard is it?

My course is Physical Therapy by the way. I am still in my second year, but I am worried that it will be a monkey on my back when applying.

I failed zoology lab when I was in first year, but then, I took the 2 units back and passed them.

I plan on doing better as I learned my lessons back then. I thought of college as something like highschool. And let's say if I got really good grades in my remaining years, will my failed mark still matter?

I prefer to work in another country, like Europe or US.

Most employers only want to see the degree...not the transcript. So, an F shouldn't hurt you too much. Unless it has greatly affected your GPA. If your GPA is coming in under 3.0, that could hurt down the road should you apply to grad school. Also, if you are applying for work right out of college, a lot of companies will ask for your GPA.

At most colleges, if you retake the class, the first F won't impact your GPA.

Like the above poster said, most companies will ask just for your GPA and not your transcript of every class. If you're applying to some kind of higher education then the administrators will see the F. But if you retake it, the 2nd grade should replace the 1st grade. Everyone makes mistakes, so one or two F's won't hurt, but try not to get more than that as administrators may raise the red flag on you as a questionable candidate for a spot. For a job, if your GPA is reasonable that is >3.0 then you should be fine. Good luck.

In the US, zoology is not one of the required couses for entrance into a physical therapy program (not sure if you plan to finish the PT degree there or here) so it shouldn't matter greatly unless it brought down your entire GPA drastically.

If you will already have your completed PT degree and have been granted your license in the US, it will not affect your job application status. Employers will not look at your transcripts...only that you have completed your degree and licensure requirements.
