Do any SQL programmers want to work abroad?

I'm working out in Cyprus and everyone I speak to says they'd love the opportunity to work abroad, especially somewhere like here. However, I've been searching for a SQL programmer / DBA for over a year and it seems no-one actually is interested! I advertise on cwjobs and monster and still very little response. Pay is not specified so that's not putting people off. The job spec is very typical of the role so it's not that either. What is it that puts everyone off?!

When I used to look for jobs if there was no pay indication I would assume that it was low.

It is interesting that you saw it as a positive (ie you would pay a good rate), as I think the majority will see it as a negative (ie you are ashamed of how low it is)

Try a few ads with the bit that people are interested in (拢拢$$) and you will see a better response.

Cyprus is the third-largest island in the Mediterranean and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Mediterranean, attracting over 2.4 million tourists per year.

Thats It.........Where does it exist in map of IT?
above all! which side you talking about?
Turkish??? if yes then forget it......economy is largely under corrupt public sector

Greek side?? oh! i agree it has Infrastructure Boom! yet....not much scope of IT there as far as i know.Cos you got very less stake of Domestic IT market.

We programmers n Geeks look after good EXPOSER (SIE CMM LEVEL) not only $ &locations .Hopefully you get someone local there to do your job.

Hope this helps
Cheers:)
