Study abroad at the InterAmerican University in San German, Puerto Rico??

I plan to study at the Interamerican University in San German in January. Any advice? How is San German? I also want to work part-time while I study. Is there any jobs there?

I did not studied there, but the Interamericana is probably the best private university in the Island. They have good sports teams.

San German? Old, quiet and calm small city at the west of PR. A few minutes of Mayaguez (biggest city at the western area). Have some historical places from the time Spain colonized PR.

Part time job? With luck maybe you find a job at the university or there is allways preparing hamburgers at Mc Donalds or frying chicken and fries at KFC.

I live in Puerto Rico. Unless you know Spanish, you won't find a job in San German.

This island is small but veeeery divided in terms of where the jobs are and who gets them.

I recommend the Interamerican University in the Metro area (San Juan). There are LOTS of transfer students and there are more possibilities to find a Job.

Also, the transportation system sucks in all of PR, but in San German it's almost null. Unless you have the cash to buy a car over here I would definitely say: Don't do it!!!!

I really don't recommend it sweetie.

YES go! I don't know what type of work you might be able to do. But that is a great motivated attitude.

Also, it is a great break and change of scenery to break up college a bit.

I don't know how San German is, even if it isn't all that great, it will be quite an experience, ... and it looks REALLY GREAT on college admission boards. You will get some great scholarships and grants when you apply, for graduate schools. (for colleges if you are in high school)

Have fun. the memories will last a lifetime, and you will learn a lot, (not necessarily in school either) . And if you were ever to go back on a vacation, the city will seem like a second home. That is a great feeling.

yes there jobs there just look in the news paper classified page or check out www.cariblot.com this is a classified ad website. Hope this information help you

San German is a quiet place, but there is a lot of students so it may not be that quiet during school. About jobs with your optimist you will find a job, and you will learn Spanish fast (If you don't know it yet.)

I guess You can find work thru the University...San german is a very Historic Town..Nice..quiet...
