Is the computer industry moving most us jobs overseas? I do not think it is as bad as everyone says. I am a programer, and yes we do send some tedious stuff like making documents into XML to india, but in order to make good software you need to be in constant contact with the client, and know a lot about the product. So while the donkey work is being sent abroad, the skilled programming will stay for some time.Not totally ... Yes they are, because the labor costs are cheaper, especially in India. yes Yes mostly to India. This process is called outsourcing. Where projects are move to cheaper locale to minimise spending on the big corporation's (CEO salary are increased while this is going on please note this). The best way to counter this is to form your own company(ie work from home contract based) which is a huge risk on the employee side (sacrificed family time and such). |
