Can a candian immigrant try for jobs in US of A ? To obtain a work visa for the US (which is required to even APPLY for a job, in person!), the company in the US must prove to the government that there is NO ONE within the the US and its territories that meets the job qualifications first. Then they have to advertise internationally, and THEN you can respond. (And hopefully win the position!) Therer are several types of work visa, ranging from ultra-specialized 'professional' requirements down through 'day labor' types. There's even a specific one for those wanting to be entrepreneurs. Check the link to see which you qualify under (or want to pursue). Oh yes ... obtaining a US job by entering via Canada is NOT really any easier than obtaining one when entering from any other nation. Source(s): www.uscis.gov Sure Mexicans do it all the time. after they learn how to spell and get a green card Legal immigrant - sure! My mother immigrated to the US in the 1950s and was working toward citizenship before she died in 1957. She was working! ILLEGAL - not a chance!!! I believe there are specific working visas available for Canadian Citizens. You should go to the USA embassy website in your country and find out more about the conditions. As always working legaly with proper paper is fine with anyone, illegal immigration isn't because not only does it hurt local people but also those who try to do thing legaly. H-1B is the most common visa type for working. Canadians (and Mexicans) can come on TN visas. However, you must be a citizen of Canada--permanent residency and landed immigrants don't count. |
