Why doesn't US send jobs to Mexico instead of China to relieve pressure on the border? |
If it did, wouldn't Mexico be better off and produce less illegal immigrants. Do Mexicans get paid that much more than the Chinese that businesses send jobs to China? it would be Hecho in Mexico instead of ...whatever, I don't know Chinese lol it has less to do with the government than it does with big business and citizens. if mexicans can find higher paying wages in the US and get the US dollar which is stronger than the Peso, why would you care if big companies were in Mexico. Of course, there are plenty of Mexicans that would love a jobe in their home country even though it pays less than the same job in the US. Thats where big biz comes in. The cost of hiring and maintaining a work force in Mexico is significantly higher than in China because China has so many fewer laws preventing abuse. In addition, you can pay workers in China far less because they can't hop the border into the US and find the same job that pays double. Make sense! The USA doesn't make that call, individual corporations do - and they send their work to where it is most cost effective. Its a purely financial decision - I guess China labor is cheaper There are a lot of US and other foreign companies in Mexico, they call the factories Maquiladoras. They are foreign companies employing Mexican native labor. Most major US electronics firms are there, as well as some other heavy and light manufacturing. Amazing but true. Many jobs have been moved to Mexico only to be outsourced from there to China. We had a Jeep Cherokee with many Mexican made parts and Harley Davidson even outsources to them . Ther is a name for these US factories that have set up shop along the Mexico border but I cannot recall... in reality if we are going to outsource why not to Mexico Rock on |
