Jobs - My boyfriend wants us to move to Jakarta this year - Are there jobs for Australians over there? |
I have had expereince with Admin & retail. Will i find it hard to get a job? You will find it very hard to get a job in Jakarta in those fields. To legally work there in Admin or retail you would have to be transferred by a non-Indonesian company. You best best is to teach English. Most places only require a degree, not necessarily an education one. Try www.englishfirst.com. I worked for them in Jakarta for 1 and half years until July 2006. The pay is ok (for Indonesia) and they, or any other school, take care of the work visa for you. Plenty, At least you can work as a native speaker instructor in one of the many english courses in jakarta. there are many other possibilites. just ask your fellow australians who work here hi can try www.jobsdb.co.id, jobindo.com should be no problem to find job, as long as you dont compare the salary you got in Jakarta to your home country. www.jakartaexpat.com plenty of jobs in Jakarta.. especially if you willing to become English Teacher.. I'm Bandung which isn't very far from Jakarta.. n I used to go to English school there n all the teachers are from Australia... it's called TBI n there is also EF... and I'm pretty sure they have those school in Jakarta.. however if it's admin n retail I'm not too sure.. you have to look around for it.. but it's not hard to get a Job there.. especially if you're good in Indonesian language GD luck |
