Do you think computers will make us lose our jobs.?

I don't think they will but i would like to know your reasons.
Please give as it is for a reasearch and other peoples thoughts matters and would help with the cause.

I work for a finance company.
Computers do alot in my company. Computers help sort and store document images, they make credit decisions on customers, and they setup guidelines for business. However, the guidelines and credit criteria are always changing.
Those guidelines are changed by the people in our risk, legal, and operations departments. Then the people in our IT department have to make the changes in the systems. Then the people in our systems coordination department have to test those changes.
Computers do alot, but it takes alot of people to maintain those computers. I don't think computers will make us lose our jobs, but they will definately change the responsibilities we have. Source(s): Principle System Coordinator, major auto finance company.
Unless you work in the paper industry, computers were supposed to eliminate paperwork but seem to have created more.
Possibly. If people are on their computers messing around like going into Yahoo Answers and thier boss finds ....... dang.... I just got fired.

Real quick....What flavor is your pudding heart?
Well of course, automation, computers, robotics, all of these will eventually take over every manual labour job except where that labour requires skilled craftsmanship, and perhaps even lasers could take over those fields as well. This has already happened actually, before the invention of computers, you could actually be a computer, you would be hired to do all sorts of menial calculations. Not to mention all sorts of jobs being lost from automation. Of course, some jobs are just improved, like the man who once shoveled a huge pile of manure can now operate a large machine to move a large pile of manure. However, if it takes the course that we've been taking, then eventually those jobs will be lost too.

However, you must ask yourself, is this a bad thing? I mean, if we were doing things right, then outsourcing nor technology would be anything we had to fear. The more and more we loose manual jobs to technology, the more it requires that people instead become more specialised and get higher educations. Eventually everyone will be in some sort of field that requires a higher education and we wont have anything to fear in that respect.

A society that has managed its people with good prudence and morality has nothing to fear from human advancement.
The outsourcing of computer work is known to be a problem, the work is often going to India, possibly for lower wages. Other than that it creates more work, for schools and even children are using computers to a greater extent.
