Bush tells us the economy is great and there are plenty of jobs out there . But , .....?

there seems to be a disconnect between what Bush is saying and what is really happening out there . The middle class jobs ( labor ) are disappearing and wages are staying the same or going down ( all that cheap labor , that no one will do ) . I f you look closely , you'll see that every thing that you buy is going up and up . Don't they call that inflation ?? What do you think ?

Real wages actually started stagnating around 1973. They have actually declined 2.1% since 2001. Add to this the cost of gas and skyrocketing medical insurance and you are looking at the middle class getting squeezed. Manufacturing has gone overseas and jobs that once paid a living wage are being taken over by illegal immigrants. I personally saw it happen in the pizza business but now it's happening in construction, janitorial duties, landscaping, and the whole food service industry.

Now on top of this frchuck mentions how great Wal-Mart is. Time was you bought your paint at a paint store on Main Street from a guy who knew paint, made ten or eleven bucks an hour, and kept his money in the community. Now that paint store owner has been replaced by a pimply-faced teenager at Wal-Mart who can't operate a cash register properly, doesn't know paint, and doesn't get paid enough to care.

The profits from that Wal-Mart go in the pockets of President Bush's fat cat friends, because once you spend a third of your paycheck on gas to drive to a job that can't afford to give you medical insurance anymore you don't have extra money to throw in your retirement plan.

The Bushies will say Bush cut taxes so we all have extra money. Yeah, I saved five dollars this year, and most of those insulting 3D Farms for bringing this up got less back than I did. Talk radio is full of these mooks in the 10% bracket calling in from some trailer park yammering about how unfair the estate tax is.

The most important issue facing the American people isn't the War in Iraq, or the War on Terror, or illegal immigration (by itself). It's how we're all getting f*cked in the a*s by the upper one percent.

But take solace. At least gays can't get married. That's what frchuck will tell you, anyway.
I think you hit the nail on the head and vote in 2008
Maybe someone's not looking. Jobs don't flock to you. And, have you learned any special, technical skills in the last 5 years?

The labor statistics don't lie. Different areas have different job markets.
I think you are a moron, and should try to form an original thought that you didn't usurp form some liberal blog!!
I think your nuts. The economy is better than it has been in a while. Inflation seems to be suprisingly low if you take in to consideration how much the price of gas has gone up.
There are alot of jobs, in the service industry ( and a perosn who is unemployed may have to not be so picky. There should be no job a perosn would not do, if they had to support thier family.

And yes the economy is going great, business are making more money than ever, Walmart for example, even Kmart and Sears. many people are starting new buinesses more than ever.

And yes wages are going down in many areas, as skilled jobs are moved overseas and as some areas are being over filled with new people
There are lots of low wage jobs and employers are having trouble filling them. Middle class jobs are another story. Benefits like retirement and health care are being slashed and many jobs are being exported or are being filled with H-1B or other temporary workers.

Take a look at what you Labor Department Secretary thinks is important.
