Although UCT is a really good university, I worry that American emplpyers dont believe that because of the perceptions about Africa. I have applied for about 150 jobs and have gotten no callbacks...Im getting worried. I graduated with first class honors and a distinction in finance, in the top 10% of my class, so I feel bumbed that I may not get a good job in Finance after all that hard work. Should I study another degree in the US or try to do an MBA in the US? :( And an answer to a previous question: I am present in the US, married to an american, so dont need sponsorship.
The best thing to do is make sure your degree is equivalent to the American ones. there is a site called
www.braintrack.com that lists all US universities and there curriculum, courses etc. find one that offers courses like the ones you took and compare yours to theirs. perhaps you need to take additional ones, or upgrade etc. then if they are equivalent contact one of the universities and ask what you would have to do so that you can transfer your credits from SA to obtain a degree in the US. |
