How do I find internships/jobs in publishing in London when I live in the US?

I am going to graduate with a degree in English, emphasis in career writing, in May 2007. I want to move to London to pursue a career in the publishing industry, but am not sure how to go about it. I know I need a work permit, but I need a job first. So I was thinking maybe an internship would be the best way to go. But I don't know where to look other than expensive university programs. I don't need room and board; I just need work!
