How can l get a job in US? but l am not a US citizen.? |
l want to come to live and work in US,but the thing is, how can l find a job and how can l get a legal job? There are several things that you can do with your basic skill set (age 25, knowing many languages). Have you thought about becoming an "au pair"? There are many fairly well off American families, and French families living in the United States that are looking for a French Au Pair to help care for their children and help teach their children a foreign language. Generally, the family houses you, pays for your health insurance and provides you with a stipend. You set up working hours. There are legal ways of doing this - check online for Au Pair services. You don't have to go thru a service, but it helps to go thru a placement service for paperwork and health care reasons. You can also work for a french company doing work here in the USA. Translation and interpretation services are needed by many. How about being a visiting French teacher? there are many legal jobs for foreigners in these areas if you go about getting the job in France - if you are paid in France via direct deposit you are golden. The above jobs are all temporary (one year jobs). If you are looking for a permanent move to the USA, I would recommend applying for a green card. If you have a career, you can try getting an H1-B visa - find a job and get the US company to sponsor you. But, if you really just want to come to the USA temporarily, going the route of au pair, nanny, interpreter, french teacher, etc., is your easiest bet. Good luck. You need a taxpayer identification number you apply for a work visa http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/services/t... I agree with dbikeguy1. go to a job s wab sit and u may ned a woking viesa You need to apply for a US work visa at the US Embassy in your country of citizenship. Don't go into US on a vistor visa and then try, because that demonstrates an intention to work upon entry (at which point you only had a vistors visa). That will cause you all kinds of grief (as it should, since it shows you had a desire to work but came in on a visitors visa). All the rules on the right way to do this are here: http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/index.htm... There are more jobs in the US than people willing and able to do them, so if you have marketable skills and a good work ethic, you will have no trouble finding work. |
