what should i be ready for (in US )I'M AN INDIAN It all depends on you. If you can speak proper English, without much accent. Don't say you know every thing. Don't promise something you can not do. Do not mingle only with Indians, but all kinds of people around you. You should know how to dress properly. Do not put oil in your hair. Be a people person, get along with everyone at work. don't have a inferiority complex. Don't stare at white woman. Make sure you take a shower every morning. change clothes every day. make sure you smell good. Where in US you are going. when are you going . if you like you can write to me. harassment and lots of it. Get ready to fill many job applications at 7-11, White Hen Pantry, Quicky Mart, BP, Oxxo's Dunkin 'Donuts and Marathon Gas. Get ready to being the butt of many ethnic jokes, puns and practical jokes like the one above. Be ready to struggle until you have the full support of your own people, which by the way, is paramount and much more effective than the support from almost any other ethnicity to their own people. Be ready to live the 'American Dream' if you have tenacity, resilience, stamina and resolve to withstand racism, bigotry, and hate. I am not trying to be a pessimist, just a realist. As a native born, non-Anglo, American citizen, I have to face the hard task of putting up with all of the above.
