Is it possible for me to get an IT job in the US? |
i have 2 college degrees: BS Information Technology & BS Development Communication. i am currently employed in the phils, working as a tech'l support rep for an american-based ISP for almost 2 years now. i'm wondering if i can get a job in the US through H1B sponsorship and how possible is this. i don't have any IT experience yet, this is my first job. is this possible? if you have more ideas or any suggestions, you can email me: nyokoyita@yahoo.com thanks a lot. The problem will be finding a company that will sponsor your H1B Visa. Your education sounds good, but finding a company will still be hard. The company has to pay for the visa fees, so they would rather find somebody who can already work in the US. Try finding a tech company that needs your specific skills, or even better your language skills. If they need a bi-lingual tech support person, they are more likely to sponsor your visa. Remember that once you have an H1B visa, the company has great power over you. If they fire you, then you have to leave the US. Some companies use this power to get more work and less pay out of employees. But some companies are good. Search google for "h1b sponsor" and you will find job search sites. Good luck! Source(s): Wife had H1B visa, before green card. It sounds possible. Good luck. Yes .... But first you must move to India! Without experience its going to be very difficult to get an H1B sponsorship. I would suggest getting something where you are first for the experience, then trying for the H1B. |
