Can a 50 year old project manager working with leading software company in India get job in US by a US company |
the project manager has 5 years of experience in the software company which is a CMM level 5 company & is currently working in the US on behalf of the India company and wants to know if he could be hired by a US company. The constraint as seen by me is my age which is 50 years today. I did it and I was 52. I'm not from India; but from Venezuela. I came to US and posted my resume. One day, after three months attempt, I got answer from a company in Miami. My experience was very valuable for them. They sponsored me and go H1B status. You must try and feel very confident. There are also web sites that help people from India during the H1B process. Do a Yahoo search on H1B and you'll find some of them. Good luck! Give it try you will come closer to getting hired in the US than people who already live in the US I know that age discrimination in the US is illegal. The person interviewing you is forbidden from asking your age. Obviously by looking at you, he/she will have some idea, and this can sway them, whether it is legal or not.
