Where are the US jobs in manufacturing? |
I live in a small community in middle tennessee and for the past few years we have watched several companies close their doors and move south. Are there any towns in the USA that are still hiring at a decient wage? Manufacturing is one of the industries that is on the way out in the USA. It's getting cheaper (and better) to outsource manufacturing to other countries. I know, it makes me sad. So many people with good skills not able to find decent work. Sad to say, the person above me hit it on the head. I've lived in NY, PA, MD, NJ, and GA and none of those states boast tons of manufacuturing jobs. The Service Sector in the Sun Belt is however, booming. We also live in a small community where my husband worked in manufacturing; unfortunately most of the manufacturing jobs are going to Mexico and China. Someone answered and said they can get it done cheaper and better by outsourcing to these countries. I disagree; it may be done cheaper but definitely not better. My husband lost his job when the plant he worked for closed and headed south to Mexico. Either learn to speak Spanish and move to Mexico; or if your job has ended due to it leaving and going to another country maybe you should take the opportunity to go to college for 2yrs courtesey of the Federal Government. Whichever road you choose; good luck with your search. I have observed this from the perspective of what industries we can expect to move to Mexico or Asia. |
