Losing jobs in US...!!! Should we boycott things made overseas?

Losing jobs in US...!!! Should we boycott things made overseas?

ABSOLUTELY!! I AGREEEEEE!!!!!

Especially CHINA - they make stuff that makes us and our kids sick. I have already seen CLOTHING made in China and if there's one thing I REFUSE to wear it's Chinese-made clothing. If Americans had any amount of brains they woule realize the we are selling our country to China one dollar at a time. My God! the trade deficit with China is HUGE!!!

Many things it does not make sense to make here, since better use can be made of he land, factories, etc., but we should limit purchases from overseas. And we should DRILL OUR OWN OIL - we have PLENTY!!!

Sorry, i could go on......

Let's look at this from another angle.
Let's assume that the United States is the richest country in the world.
Let's assume that many many other countries in the world have poor standards of living - China for example has a GDP per capita income of $7,800 versus the U.S. at $43,800. Ethiopia is $1,000. There are 27 countries at $2,500 or less!

In China 44% of people work in agriculture versus the U.S. at .7%.

Do we keep all our jobs and close our borders and say the U.S. doesn't buy anything that isn't from the United States - thereby excluding buying goods like coffee from other countries?
Or do we choose to share our way of governance, our way of manufacturing, and our expertise from so many college educated people with other countries - helping to elevate life expectancy and standards of living?

If we choose to close our borders internationally - at what point do we start to close our state borders for trade?

Could you stare at a family from Ethiopia who has an annual income of less than $1,000 and say that it is not fair that they work to manufacture goods to raise their standard of living?

Is it fair that Luxemborg has household income that is 63% higher than our and not spend money with us? (they actually do)

Is it right that of the 229 recognized countries that only 24% have a household income above $20,000 per year? Should that 24% not spend any of their income with the other 76% of the countries in the world?

As the country with the 10th highest household GDP income, I think we should be working to raise the household incomes, safety, health, and living standards for everyone - especially those 76% of the countries who are not doing as well as us!

If we choose to not share jobs and wealth - what long term consequences will that have with our relationships with those 76% of the countries? I think it makes sense to be on friendly trading terms with China, Russia, Brazil, Chile, India, and many others. Starving families in the other countries can't possibly be friendly towards the wealthiest countries for decades and not develop hatred towards the United States from my perspective.

Let's find ways of helping those poorest countries to make a living!
