Why is it that parnets tell us to get jobs and tell us to grow up, then when we try they treat us like kids?

because they dont wanna lose control, being selfish!

It is just a parent thing. Of course we want you to grow up and get jobs, but then when you do we want you at home so we can protect you.

Because you are still kids. Your parents are probably comparing your behaviour with their current behaviour, rather than with their behaviour when they were your age.
If they seem to have a specific problem with you, do what you can to address it. If not, well, it gets better, one day you can move out :)

because they wont us to bring in money but then they wish they get the old times back. People, never happy.

my daughter is 16, works and can be very independent and independence is what parents fear the most, we all want our kids to be successful but we miss the times when you came to us for everything, we want the little kid back who fell asleep with us on the couch, who had a boo-boo and needed a kiss and a hug to make it better, the little girl who thought boys were icky, in short we always want to be needed by you, our children

parents tell us to get jobs and to grow up because they want us to have a good life , but sometimes its hard for them to let go because they dont want us to get hurt and think you dont need them they want us to grow up and to succeed but when we get older they cant fix our mistakes we have to so they are trying to prepare us for life but keep us in there nest.
