If I have ADD, will that bar me from any flight jobs in the US Air Force?

My dad told me that since i have had ADD, (I just found this out and thanks a whole lot dad... Useless... anyway, I know I can't fly, b/c of eyesight, but I want to get a job as a navigator or some other officer position on a transport plane such as a C-5 or a C-17. If any of you can help please let me know. Oh and I wasn't forced to take any meds, and I'm still not taking it. Let me know please! This will affect my decision on joining the service or not.

You cannot join any Branch of the Military with ADD. You also have to realized to become an Officer you need a college degree. You can't "join the service as an Officer". Then you have to have extensive training, rank, experience to even be consider to join the pilot school. Each of those JETS cost 200-300 millions of dollars, they are not ganna hand you one. You have to earn your spot. By the way I'm not trying to put you down. But after reading your question I have to tell you the reality of the situation. Take one step at a time...

It can bar you from even being allowed to join,

get the four year degree WITHOUT being on Meds and prove that you can function normally . you MIGHT have a shot.

ADD is not disqualifying for entry into the Armed Forces if you can demonstrate passing academic performance and have not been on medications for it during the past twelve months. The source below is for that medical standard. The standards for flying duty are contained in Chapter 4 of that regulation and they refer back to the standard I cited below.
The vision standards for all flying duty are quite stringent compared to those for initial enlistment. That would include such positions as navigator. However, you might be able to qualify for assignment as crew chief on a transport/cargo plane.

What lack of jobs? Illegal immigrants coming across the border don't seem to have trouble finding jobs. Unemployed people are lazy. There are plenty of jobs to be had.
