Why don't the candidates address the lack of jobs in the us? Bring the jobs back here instead of overseas!

Why don't the candidates address the lack of jobs in the us? Bring the jobs back here instead of overseas!

What lack of jobs? Illegal immigrants coming across the border don't seem to have trouble finding jobs. Unemployed people are lazy. There are plenty of jobs to be had.

Here in California I see help wanted signs everywhere. Many don't pay a living wage. You would need at least 16 -20 dollars/hr to survive.
There are many openings for technical jobs, nursing, teaching, mechanics, etc. The papers are full of jobs.
Go on line and get a newspaper and look at the help wanted columns.
Unfortunately, this is an election year and always the party out of power will make claims for everything and anything.
I remember when Dwight Eisenhower was campaigning and all the newspapers were all about his playing golf when he should have been running the country.
Every President had a cutie on the side and Bill Clinton got hung up about his. It was a mistake to make a big deal out of this for the country and took his efforts away from the leadership needed to run the country

Candidates really hate to make fools of themselves by raising an issue that is statistically unfounded. The economy hs been running close enough to capacity to present a risk of inflation. Let us go a bit further and realize that if US imported less, and paid for less work done abroad, it would be in a labour shortage that would not allow a lot of wars to be ongoing.

To continue to support the military expenditure we have to either import or stop exporting, and we need to maintain a large group of immigrant labour, because, believe it or not, the USA is in a labour shortage.

it's not an issue this election

There are plenty of jobs here.....if you have invested in your education and skills.

We are going through a job revolution. Much like the Industrial Revolution phased out many farm jobs, the current Technological Revolution is phasing out many manual labor/factory jobs. Low skilled jobs are going away and won't be coming back. To survive, you will have to raise your skill level through education and training.

There is not a lack of employement in the U.S., that's why it's not being addressed.

Someone mentioned the technological jobs phasing out labor jobs, and that is untrue. We need food to eat- which means we need people to tend to the food. (Strawberry pickers, for example). We want McDonald's, we need people who are willing to work in the drive-thru at midnight.

There is an abundance of jobs in the U.S. So let me ask you this: if you were unable to find a job doing what you wanted, would you take a job to get what you need? If you want to write scripts and couldn't find a job like that- are you willing to pick strawberries or work at McDonald's?

We are a picky bunch, us Americans. I'm not willing to pick strawberries, but if it came down to that or letting my child starve, I certainly would. Instead of putting myself in that position, I went to school and I got a good job. I have worked at McDonald's and a handful of other fast food places to get by and it sucks. So I bettered myself and got a better job.

Maybe that's what you need to do.
