How many people in the US hold full time jobs?

Yahoo suggested I put this question here. I have no agenda about immigration. I'm looking for a real number, not a percentage or a smart answer like "enough" Thanks for not answering if you don't have an answer.

About 140 million. Yes, that's less than half of Americans, yet the unemployment rate is under 5%. A lot of people don't hold or seek paying jobs. This includes retirees, non-working primary caregivers or homemakers, children, students, the disabled, the idle rich, convicts, the idle poor, 'discouraged workers,' 'grey market' workers, etc...

Not enough

A lot. Lots of people work 2 or 3 jobs as well...to make ends meet.

What does this have to do with immigration? If you are implying that only immigrants have full time jobs, you are full of it.
I have a full time job, and so does my husband, my boss, my co-worker, everyone in the building I work in, etc, etc, etc.

Most adults hold full time jobs. In many families even the kids work for their extra's.

I would say that about 70 % are working at one time .

I don't know, but there were about 120 federal income tax returns last year (including the 30% or so who had no liability and ended up paying zero or less [refund > liability])

Some of those are obviously two-income households, but its impossible to say how many from the statistics I've seen.

I'm guessing off the top of my head that the number of people in America employed at all is less than 180 million. I have a hunch that its around half.
