Lucy Can US culture change value of children, youth jobs pay poverty level wages yet celebrities earn $$$$??

My life work residental/foster care/with runaway/homeless/abused youth has shown me staff who are dedicated, educated and caring yet they leave unable to support a family low $.I adopted two children:age 4-7 foster homes in 2yrs; age 9-9 homes.I advocated for children and staff.Social Services and Group Home Industry are filled with horrors but the truly dedicated to quality care lack funding for training and qualified staff.Reactive Attachment Disorder continues to be unknown yet our system often creates it or fails to warn adoptive parents how to heal the children.I have seen nursery school staff qualify for welfare, yet caring for our future. Over worked social services staff are blamed for atrosities when the system is to blame for their desperation to find homes for children. Foster kids put out at 18 with less than a murderer released after 18 yrs. Some group homes are worse than the families kids were removed from. The best burnout unsupported. The bright go elsewhere Change HOW?

It needs to change at the family level, we need to respect life more.

Young people starting out at low wages need to realize that only by doing a good job at low pay can they advance to higher pay.

Be industrious and you will move up in your field.

Good Luck and Good Work.

Peace!

A committment to quality education and positive role models are key to the future of these children. Don't complain about how much money celebrities make. That is a no win argument.

There will never be a lot of money available for people who work in social services. The real issue is how to fix these problems in the homes of the children.

I know this is a problem of for all races, but especailly for black children. For example, almost 70% of black children are illegitimate and do not have a father living at home. 50% of black fathers did not see their children last year. Bill Cosby is right. It's time for black men to stand up and take responsibility for their actions. The culture must change for the future to be better.
