Caregiver jobs, where can i find a website looking for a caregiver in canada or us?

thanks for any help

If you are wanting to help families of seniors who seek help with caregivin in the United States, I would suggest that you connect with the Area Agency on Aging that serves the county where you are seeking work. .

The folks there will know the details about programs and services that are available to seniors --and would know groups and organizations who hire caregivers. Area Agencies on Aging are one of the best kept secrets around for older Americans and their families who are seeking information on care options, so they would have links with families who might be interested in hiring you to help. Also, Area Agencies on Aging have services and connections to programs that can help family caregivers.

You can call toll-free 1-800-677-1116 to find how to contact the Area Agency on Aging serving any area of the U.S..

After you get the phone number for the ocal Area Agency on Aging and make the call, ask for the staff that handles the "Family Caregiver" program or "In-Home Services" for seniors.

It would be advisable for you to have information ready about why you want to be a caregiver for seniors--any related experience you have, such as help to older family members, etc, and education or training that you have had. You will also want to provide phone numbers for references who are non-family members who will attest to your honesty and dependability to be a caregiver for elders. You will also want to provide the necessary information that potential employers can use to do a background check which will almost certainly be a requirement.

If you do contact your local Area Agency on Aging and like the help that they give you, let your local county officials and your folks in Congress know. Or consider making a contribution to support their work. Area Agencies on Aging don't have big budgets-- and appropriations for the Older Americans Act, the legislation that makes this help possible-- have not increased significantly for about 25 years!

Hope this helps! Thanks for caring about elders. Good luck with your plans!
