Is it harder to get a job in Canada than US?

I'm studying statistics in US. After my master program, I wanna get a job either in US or Canada. My first choice would be Canada(for my personal reasons)

I wanna work in Bank, Insurance companies or other financial, actuarial service area.

Some people say it's harder to get a job in Canada. With a degree (Bachelor + master) in US, how hard it is to get a job in Canada? Why is it harder than US?

Vancouver, Calgery are my choices.
Let me know please
Thanks

If you want to get a job in Canada, it would help if you learned how to spell first. The financial hub of Canada is Toronto. The major banks have their head offices in Toronto. A number of life insurance companies are located in Toronto and Waterloo, Ontario; however, if you want to work in insurance, it would help if you had a degree in actuarial science and your ASA.
It is difficult to get a job in Canada because Canadian employers are wimps who refuse to take any risks whatsoever. You have to have experience in very specific areas before a Canadian company will hire you. It doesn't matter if you can learn the skill in 10 minutes. They want you to have at least 3 years experience. They refuse to recognize the benefits of hiring an applicant who is smart and a quick learner with a solid educational background. Once you get a job, no one wants to teach you anything. In fact you're lucky if someone shows you where the washroom is.
Good luck!

Calgary has a really low unemployment rate, which means more jobs available. So I would try there.
the colleges and universities are different in the States than in Canada. we don't have community colleges here and schools solely give scholarships based on academic work.
In the States a lot of emphasis is done on sports and here, at some if not most reputable universities, sports is a joke (hello UofT... ps I used to be a student there)
We don't know American universities, other than the big ones. I mean, there are a ton. For example, there is University of Michigan. Then Michigan State. WTF lol why two "bigger" universities with realllly close names. There is no other "Toronto" university. Our government probably would not endorse it. So we know the reputation of most universities. LIke Queens with journalism, or UofT with engineering.. Its pretty hard to get them mixed up, and cuz theres not the mass amount that are in the States, we know the reputations of them. I know when I've done hiring, I definitely look at what schools they've gone to. If i have 2 great candidates, and one of them went to a university with a greater reputation in this field, quess what it will come down to, if there is nothing else different between them.

In Calgary it is very very easy to get a job. The economy is so strong out there right now that they are constantly advertising to get more people to move there. There are actually more jobs than people in that city, which seems hard to believe, however true. People are making close to $15.00 an hour in McDonalds. Just imagine what you can do with a degree. The tough part is not finding a job in Calgary, its finding a place to live....
Jobs tend to be a lot higher paying in Canada than the US, although the cost of living is substantially higher as well.

I don't believe it is harder to find a job in Canada than the US. Particularly, if you are not an US citizen, then it is definitely easier to find a job in Canada.

Best wishes.

In the financial industry, Toronto is your best bet. It is the financial capital of Canada. I live here and must say that it has been much easier to break into the field here than anywhere else.
