A few of my mates and I went over to Amsterdam to work for Fokker about 20 years ago..........and 2 of them are still there married to Dutch girls.

Is it a good idea - yes, why not ?

Are jobs easy to come by ? No worse than in the UK, but it depends, of course, on what skills you have.

Why don't you sort out getting a job before you go, then you won't have to worry about taking so much money. Check out the website below.

Go for it........and enjoy it ! Source(s): http://www.amsterdam.info/employment/...
All depends on what your planning to do once you get there.

What type of work are you looking for?

The Dam is expensive but if you don't mind commuting a short distance from central accomodation is much cheaper.
Used to work there.
Depends if you're skilled!
I worked there for 2 years. you need a good job to pay the bills, or ten small jobs of which you won't have anytime to enjoy the finer qualities of the best city in the world, as i take it that is what you want to move there for!
Have a look at living outside Amsterdam, less hassle and the trains are so much better than the uk, you could nearly live there but not if you know what i mean!!
Yeah take loads of money, you can get carried away very easily there!
Been on hols to Holland for the last three years, love it there, people are so down to earth, going back again next year, Amsterdam is expensive, however plenty of work. Eindhoven down the south is much cheaper to live, however you would need to speak dutch, allot of people speak English there but if you did not speak the language it would be a disadvantage. Was in Amsterdam last month and for example a bar owner was telling me it costs 鈧?.50 an hour to park your car in the city, eating out can be expensive too, clothes and shoes are ridiculous prices, cigarettes are cheap, buying alcohol from an off license is cheap however going out the drinks are expensive, you really have to watch your money there and how you spend it. Almost everyone speaks English in the city and there are allot of people working there from abroad. Its a really fun place lots of different things to do, if i didn't have financial ties at home id be off on the next plane over, go for it!!!
It does not make any difference.Jobs are difficult everywhere even if you are highly qualified.
