Is it hard to get a good job in the UK as an inmigrant? |
I've been to London and went to some recruiting agencies and they say that I have to have first "UK Experience" and only will be able to get temporary jobs as of now, also they said that I may earn about 20K-30K pounds per year, which I find not that high as everything costs twice at least of whatever is in Canada, and the salary difference is not that significant... welcome to the uk, if you earn 20-30k a year you will be doing well, try the job centres, but you may find wages will be the national minimum, look in trade papers and magazines, you may be lucky, you obviosly didnt do your homework before coming, you would of found out, that here we have low pay, high cost of living, high tax, and a tax on everything, and everything is not a charge but a fine, anyway good luck You really need to have unique skills to get e very good - after all, there are may people in the UK who were born here and will have similar and better qualifications and experience that you. Maybe work for an international company in Canada, do well and then get transferred to the UK? Visa info: http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/ |
