How is looking for a job different in the UK?

I'm from Canada and I have just graduated with an MA from a british university. I just started looking for work in London and everybody tells me that looking for a job in the UK is very different from elsewhere.

But how?

What do employers put more emphasis on?

What should I know when looking for a job here?

What approach is the most succesful in your experience?

I suppose its different because of the lousy weather.

dont know how they look for a job in caanada here weiether go to the local job centre or look in the news paper,each town has a specific day for advetising jobs.just write a letter and enclose your cv.
