I've been offered a job in dubai, I have a great job in the uk. What shall I do? |
My job here is well paid with shares. When I leave i lose all! The job in dubai is double the salary with expenses (no tax) and maid and a home all paid for. So I'm much better off! i have a daughter in the uk whom i see other weekends and will miss me as i will miss her but i can travel back every other month! As an expat myself, I can honestly say that I couldnt move further than a 2 hour flight away, so I can get back home quickly if I need to - it is lonely living in another country and its hard emotionally. Its a bit risky, what happens if you dont like the job or the country?, have you got a fall back plan? You need to seriously consider this, can you handle only seeing your daughter every eight weeks? It depends how old she is I suppose. Good luck and I hope everything works out brilliant for you. You have answered your own question! Follow your heart!!! dubai, i love the place, i am still determined to go back to the middle east after living there for 4 years, if you are young enough its the time to make you money and return and have a better life. go an enjoy and remember me and invite me for a drink lol Remember to use capital letters for pro nouns. Depends how old your daughter is. I'd normally say do it, but you have a responsibility and you can't just up and leave the country semi-permanently if your daughter needs you. I'm not saying she does, I'm just saying if she does, it's a bit selfish to leave. You're bound to drift apart as well if you go so far away, so bear that in mind. That's a hard question. If you're better off in Dubai then maybe you should go. Maybe try it for a year and see if it suits you and your daughter. If it is too much to be away from her then just come back. But if you don't try it you will never know. Good luck! |
