What is the best way to get job in UK - US citizen?


I am a US Citizen IT Professional - Project Lead
Finishing project looking to be over there by Feb 07

I would suggest using a reputable employment agency.

I know you would need a work permit, but I do not know how you go about getting one.

Try looking at the United Kingdom Embassy website. They may well have information.
you must be keen, most of us want out, Britain has become such a tax riddled dump, you want to stay in us or try somewhere else.
