i met 20 potential employers looking for IT sales people over last 2 months. they advertize 80-100k OTE, but in reality targets are unachievable, and sales people earn at most 50-60k OTE.
is this normal in UK in your experience?
It is not normal. Most employers will set stretching but realistic targets. There is no such thing as an unachievable target. It's all about the mind set of the salesperson and their ability to close sales. Good and experienced salesperson in the UK, who are able to deliver, quite easily earn in excess of 100k. infact the really good ones opt for a small basic + commission. Keep looking - you need to have the right atitude. |
