What are the odds of an American getting a good job in the UK? |
I am still rather young to be looking this far ahead into the future. However, I like to plan things. My dream job, which I won't go into detail about, would best be performed in the UK. Of course, if I were to get a job in the UK, I would move there. Nevertheless, I would still be an "American." I have a feeling being an American would make it rather hard to get a real job in the UK. Is this true? Do the Brits discriminate like I've heard, or is it all bull? I would like to hear some responses from actual UK citizens. Your chances of getting employment in the UK would be zero to none unless you can get a work permit for the UK. They have an 8% unemployment rate and it would be very difficult for you to get a work permit. Your best bet would be to get a job here in the US with an American firm that has offices in the UK or has a subsidiary in the UK and then get a transfer to one of those offices. dont go to uk.it is waste I'm British (Welsh) |
