Why do so many UK job sites not tell you anything???

Its infuriating!

i'm looking on sites like Fish4jobs, and half the adverts are completely useless.

For example they say stuff like.

A high profile publisher within a central Birmingham location is seeking an office administrator for (the goes onto list requirements).

And it says

Salary:Negotiable, ring up and apply for details.

WHY can't they just put their company name, address and salary range......why are so many adverts so guarded! I see no advantage in it.

Ahhhh!

I think what it could be is that many job applications are handled by 'middle men' job agencies. As they have to set targets for applications and enquiries they force you to ring up and give your details over (which they then probably sell to junk mail vendors).

Because most of those jobs do not exist, but they want to put your name on their data base in case a job turn up which matches your criteria. Agencies, in my view are waste of time, unless you go with a reputable one.

I've noticed that, and they say based in East London,,,...WHERE IN EAST LONDON? I need to no to see if it is worth me travelling on the Cr AP salary your offering..
There is a lack in jobs lately too..

If they told people the exact details, less people would apply, giving the sites less numbers.
