Im planning to live in UK, anyone here who can help little abt UK live and work/job condition.?

I willing and planning to get HSMP visa for live and work in London UK,can anyone here provide me little info about life in UK, can I get a gentle job initially for 2000 ponds per month? What needful amount to live for 1 person in London in a nice suburb? Which are good to live suburbs in london? Also if I have to compare, which place have a great live in comparing between Australia and UK.

Im into managament job or any type of office administration, so is it possisble to have job in London for 2000-2500 GBP in starting to live life nicely,

What is your profession? I am working in London and earning a bit over 2000 GBP a month in sales. I have 5 years experience and my work is quite "gentle".

If you would like to know how much you'd get paid in your profession you can search for your desired post in job boards and see how much you can expect. Example of a job board is monster.co.uk, but you can just enter "jobs" in google.co.uk to find 100s others.

2000 pounds a month after tax is around 34k GBP a year, which is a little below the average salary in London.

For one person it is not enough to live nicely. You will either need to live in a dodgy, dangerous area or have a dodgy, smelly old little flat. Renting is very expensive.

You will need at least 1200 GBP per month if you want to have rent a studio flat (that includes all bills). You will need 100 GBP a month for public transport (forget about owning a car - it is not needed in London), another 400 GBP for food, provided you like to eat out once or twice a week.
You will also have other expenses, like clothes, electronics, mobile 'phone etc. At least 200 GBP a month.
That's already 1900 GBP, not including going out, which is very expensive.

You could save by sharing a flat with other people - because renting is so expensive and so many people want to live in London (and there are not enough residential properties) it is very usual in an individual to share a house with other people.

That could save you a lot - A room in a good area would cost you only around 500 GBP a month including bills.

And what are the nicest places to live in London? Obviously those most expensive ones. South Kensington is quite nice and central, or other areas near Hyde Park. But if rent is too expensive there, West London is quite good, comparing to other parts. Oh, and Docklands area is also good and modern. Apart from the central and west London most of the areas look worse than in the 3rd world countries - slums, crime, run-down estates, smell etc... Available accommodation is mostly terrible, so avoid anything apart from the areas I mentioned above.

And at last, comparison between Australia and UK....

Well, Australia wins on all fronts. Why do you think thousands and thousands Brits are emigrating from their country to Australia? On the other hand only a handful of Australians that come to the UK stay here for good - they mostly don't like it here and I can understand it. Australia is simply a better place to live and not only because of the sun.

Your question is a bit vague and it's hard to give advice when you haven't got enough information to picture the scenario. I don't know what you consider a "gentle" job either...

Good luck!
