What will happen to Horacio Felizondo in the refeering in the Swiss VS Korea Game? |
I have a question about what will happen to him because he did a very bad job in the refeering of the South Korea VS Switzerland Soccer game on Friday(6/23/06) because he awarded the swiss the 2nd point when the linesman had raised the offside flag before the number 9 player in the swiss team kicked the 2nd pointer in the goal when south korea had blocked the ball and Horacio Felizondo also had took the ball away from the south korea team for no reason and he had also didnt do anything when a swiss player had touched the ball before south korea kicked the corner kick??? He quits? As stated before. The second goal was a very very good decision by the referee. The referee HAS ALL THE RIGHT to overrule the linesman ref if he thinks he has seen something that the other referee didn't. From the angle of the linesman, the ball looked like a pass and from the Swiss player to Frei. In reality, the ball was DEFLECTED from the Swiss player's pass to another player who was ONSIDE. The fact that Frei was offside is not wrong by itself, the only time the offside rules comes into play is when a teammate passes directly to an offside player. In this case, the referee saw the deflection and had rightly overruled the linesman's decision. What is outrageous is how everyone in the South Korean's team stood because of the flag, even the goalie almost stopped. NO ONE should stop unless they hear the referee's whistle. This is basic football. There's no excuse for stopping to play just because of a flag, the players should have known better. Note to nikess below: You are wrong. The player's position being offside is not an offense by itself. The rule of offside is that a player SEEKS to gain advantage. Imagine if a player is behind a defender, he's clearly offside, now Imagine the defender passes the ball to his goalie and the player intercepts it, IS THAT OFFSIDE? No! Your reasoning is wrong and NO it does not say anything of what you said on "FIFA website" . The matter is clear, the swiss passed to someone onside, defender deflects it to the offside player, and player scores. Linesman raised his flag because his angle is blocked by too many players and shows a direct pass. When the players went to the linesman to complain he clearly says talk to the referee (which is the boss ultimately because he can see from an angle the linesman cannot). Another point is, yes referees do make mistakes, but that doesn't mean every referee in this game takes bribes!! They said that about the referee in the Italy vs South Korea game in the quarter finals in 2002. Why were YOU not complaining when he made so many bad calls against the Italians, especially offside calls? Because YOU won. Now drop it. No one is bought. Some referees make mistakes and this is why the game is an excellent game. They proposed to make the clock stop and the referees revise the videos of every complaint to make the right call, but everyone rejected it in FIFA because it would slow down the game. That is the only way referees wont make mistakes, afterall theyre human. The real issue is South Korea wasn't playing its best. If they were no one would be complaining about why the referee didn't give penalty kicks. Good teams don't rely on PKs, theyre good because they score! Hey, Magic, you are totally right. I agree. The referree has all the rights. But, if you have a chance, watch the game again. You might find out that he 90% cuts every time when Korea gets the ball. Also He did not give the penalty by the handling foul. This is so strange~ Why? 1. France- A swiss guy was hit by a ball on his hand and the referree ignored.well, tried to ignore. No penalty kick given. 2. Togo- Swiss Defender tripped adebayor and the referre tried to ignore. No penalty kick given. 3. The ball hit the swiss defender's hand.tried to ignore. No penalty kick given. Magic. What's this? the ball hit the hand 2 times in the match of Korea, and what's that? the referre touched the ball 2 times! when Korea tried to attack! In the FIFA rule, It says it's an offside even if the ball touches the defender's foot. YOu should see the rules in the Site. It is just the same as the situation in the game. That's why the lineman held the flag. Isn't it suspicious? The referees of FIFA work for the switzerland boss Felizondo, that guy gave 18fouls when he gave 5 to the Switz. Of course he can over rule. but what about the others? I predict he bribed. dnt know be very sure that it was a foul before calling it.... i dunno Well, if you want a conspiracy theory, I'd say that FIFA (headquartered in Zurich), had the word out that they wanted 4 European teams in the semi-finals to guarantee a European champion. The Old Boys' Club. How to make it up? Guarantee that Burkina Faso wins the 2010 Cup in Africa. |
