Should I distance myself from my friend? |
I'm in a difficult situation at the moment. I have been going out with a girl I really like for the past 6 months. We get on really well and we have talked about moving out and are due to go on holiday next month. if he's worth keeping in your life as a friend, try to be patient with him. no Well either buck up and ignore the dolts bad behavior, give him a heart to heart letting him know that you'd rather spend time with him then spend time hearing how you don't spend time every time you get together or yes time to just move on and hope that maybe once he gets his crap out of his system you can reconcile later and carry on. better you keep a distance.. you cannot have a friend like this charater.. Right now, he does not realize how important your relationship with your girlfriend is. Once he falls in love, he will understand. Just tell him that you would like to remain his friend , but that he will have to understand that your life is much busier now than it was before. Tell him that you are happy for him in his new job, but that you would appreciate it if he did not talk bad about what you are doing in your life. If he can't handle that, he is not a good friend, and you need to just ignore him until he matures a bit. Maybe he is just having a hard time that someone has sorta took "the spotlight" from him, so he feels a little threatened......So i think maybe you should give him some space and if that doesn't work then maybe you need to have a word or two with him......... It is not necessary to distance yourself from your friend. I had a friend exactly the same..how odd. well it sounds to me like he misses what you 2 use to have. i recently had my friend tell me the same complaining in the same sort of manner. but first off i would explain to him look you know my g/f comes first. and if you hang out once a week that probably just don't seem right cause you probably went out and did stuff allot and hung out allot so it just kinda sucks for him. i would tell him look i'm sorry but i don't wanna be doing all that and ain't got time for it or however you feel on the topic and tell him look if you really are a friend you should understand. and ya know i don't harrass you when you do something i don't like. so why would you do that to me. well good luck with your friend hes probably just missing the time you 2 had. |
