Getting a job in spain? |
I live in the UK and I wanna move to Spain but i'm going 2 need a job when i get there i was just wondering how to do this You don't say what part of Spain you wish to move to. I can tell you it is not easy getting a job here (Costa Blanca), unless of course you don't mind working in a bar or restaurant (usually only seasonal). If you speak fluent Spanish, then you are more likely to find gaining employment easier. Me and my hubby moved here from the U.K. almost 4 years ago and it has not been easy getting work. However, having said that, the lifestyle is fantastic, the weather is a bonus and if you have got the 'get up and go' then that is exactly what you should do. Good luck. visit the job centre, i hear they're pretty good at having jobs available visited there. a old lady told me, "stay away gringo. we don't gotta show you no stinking nothing. we like people like el toro who know how to be real men or a real women. you come with your tail between your legs and act like whipped puppies." so now you know. god bless and good luck. better than me. well you are going to have to be very lucky to get a job in spain these days! now the flood gates are open in europe spain, just like britain is saturated with eastern europeans. taking most jobs and posing as skilled workers! do loads of research and secure a job and contract before you even think of leaving england! good luck! Do your research before you come out here. Work is very hard to find and tends to be given to the Spanish or people who can speak a reasonable level of Spanish. If you are qualified in anything, get your certificates translated into Spanish, this can help. If you have no professional qualifications, be prepared to work in bars, restaurants, etc. The money isn't great and the hours can be long. However, the way of life out here is fantastic, the people are generally very friendly, the weather is great and as a country it is fantastic. Good luck!! if you go to the Costa Blanca and don't mind bar work or the like, you can get the costa blanca news up on the net,its an English paper, has all the things you'll need jobs accommodation and the local life tit-bits,hope this helps.. It seems you are determined to go to Spain, so I麓ll try and help, a lot depends on where you go, obviously the holiday destinations offer plenty of bar and waiting on work, but now is the wrong time of year to get work in a lot of the resorts, because they don麓t have the volume of tourists at this time of year to warrant taking on extra staff, even the Costa Del Sol gets a lot quieter at this time of year. the first thing you need to consider is good clean accommodation! Why not apply to some of the bigger travel firms for courier or tour guide work, or email some of the bigger hotels, ok the wages wont be great, but a lot of them offer accommodation as part of the deal you could possibly set yourself up in work before you leave the UK! the other thing I would suggest, is apply for work in one of the bigger cities, like cities any where there are a lot more people so there is a lot of work in the service industry! In case you are wondering, I live in Southern Spain, on the border with Portugal, so i know from experience how difficult it can be to get work! I see some of the airlines are looking for staff based over here so why not check out the employment sections on their websites. I trust you can speak some Spanish?? If not, I think your best move would be to the busy coastal regions and check out the bars and restaurants. Be careful though and GET A CONTRACT. Try www.infojobs.es Is not easy.... here the works sux... and the salarys more... here the world of worlk sux. Do not come to Spain unless you have more than 拢2000 (to keep you for quite a while). If you do not know anyone here it could be lonely and dangerous for a young girl alone. Imagine going to London with no money,no job and no where to stay.............you wouldn't do it would you?? Well it depends on where exactly you want to move! learn the language first might give you a head start.! Lived in Spain and it can be very difficult even if you speak the language, salarys not good, you can become self-employed but you have to pay taxes upfront (they tell you how much) before you have even earnt anything or like a lot of people work for cash but you have to pay tax eventually or its seasonal work. I understand you are quite young. Don麓t do this on your own. However, I can麓t understand why everybody that has answered to help you have been getting negative feedbacks. It is true that the job situation is difficult here, (been here 17 years) but if you ever did give it a go, it doesn麓t mean it麓s forever. You can always return to uk. This applies for any country you tried. There are enough people coming into Uk to give it a go from all over Europe. It depends what kind of job you want. You could look on www.monster.com or try to find recruitment agencies that specalise in English speaking staff for Spanish companies. |
